教材分析

What:The text is a short dialogue between Kate and her Mom taking about the clothes that Kate wants to buy and the reasons for not buying or changing clothes.

Why:Let students know how to rightly read and write the cardinal numerals that can be used to describe the price of clothes.

How:The dialogue concludes many sentence patterns that have learned in former units, such as “ I have…” “Do you like…” “I don’t like…” and the usage of “ but”, which not only give a good review for former knowledge but also beneficial for the learning of  “How much…” and the cardinal numeral.

 

教学目标

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

1. 语言能力:

(1) have the following words: ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fifteen,eighteen, twenty, thirty

(2) can master the following sentence patterns:

-How much is the white bag?

-It’s seventeen dollars.

2. 学习能力: (1) listen to the recording several times to get the clothes Kate and Mom talked about in the recording and the reasons for not buying or changing clothes, so as to improve my listening and speaking ability.

(2) actively cooperate with partners to practice dialogues, cultivate the fun of learning English, and improve the confidence of speaking English.

3. 文化意识: establish a correct view of consumption, do not overspend, think about whether the price of goods is reasonable, and learn how to buy things according to different standards.

4. 思维品质:summarized the rules of expression of cardinals, and improved my thinking ability of analysis and discrimination by observing and analyzing the expressions of 11-19, 21-19, 30, 40 and 50, .

Step 1 T creates a situation: double eleven is coming and Lily as a saleswoman need to know how many clothes are in her store, and then T asks Ss to help her to count out the clothes in English. Ss help Lily count out the clothes. It can provide a natural leading-in for learning cardinal numeral.

Step 2 T asks Ss to read the numbers in 1a. Ss finish read the numbers in 1a. 1a can help Ss strengthen the new words and let them control the pronunciation of the numbers.
