教材分析

What:The conversations provides some communication phrases in real situations when people meet for the first time, such as greeting, asking others’ names and introducing their own names.

Why:The conversations provide examples of how students greet and ask for names, which can help students improve their listening and speaking ability in watching videos and listening to recordings, and improve their communication ability in dialogues practice.

How:The language in the text includes not only some words and sentences learned in the preparatory units, but also the new knowledge of this unit, which is conducive to review and learning new knowledge

 

教学目标

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

语言能力:master key vocabulary and sentence patterns;master the method of asking names by letters;master possessive and personal pronouns.

2. 学习能力:actively cooperate and communicate with others to improve listening, speaking and communication skills; master greeting and asking names and introducing their own name by learning new words and patterns  and improve viewing ability by looking at pictures and videos.

3. 文化意识:learn different ways of greetings in English language and become more aware of cultural diversity; improve the sensitivity and discernment of cultural differences between China and foreign countries.

4. 思维品质:think independently when watching videos which can improve the ability of observation and discrimination; improve the ability of thinking by observation the difference between possessive pronouns and personal pronouns.

教学步骤

Step 1 T greets students. Then T leads Ss to think about two questions:

(1)Do you still remember

the day when you

firstly meet others?

(2) What did you said?

Ss think about two questions and then actively answer T.

 

Questions can help them quickly recall the situation when they firstly met each others and also can help activate Ss interests about today’s topic.
Step 2 T asks Ss to watch a video about the fresh students meeting each other. And T asks them to conclude what they said. Ss carefully watch a video and  try to conclude what they said. It can naturally lead students to learn today’s learning and can give a good context for following knowledge learning.

Pre-listening (7)
Step 3 T  gives the right answer in PPT. And then T teaches Ss two important language points from the video. Ss chech in theri own answer and learn two important language points from the video. Video provides a good context for following knowledge learning so this is the right time to learn these two language points.
Step 4 T asks Ss to finish 1a and them shows lead Ss to find the objects in the picture. T should give some support when Ss are unfamiliar with objects. Ss finish 1a and learn the meaning of the words of unfamiliar

objects.

 

Viewing a picture to find the objects can help Ss improve their viewing ability.
