学情

分析

本课时是人教版六年级下册第一单元的第二课时,与第一课时紧密相连,围绕“恐龙的身高”展开话题。本课时包括Let’s try 和 Let’s talk 两个板块。Let’s try是听力训练,呈现的是关于恐龙的材料。通过听力的练习,学生们获得场景信息,为下面进入正确的对话做好准备。Let’s talk呈现张鹏和Mike 在博物馆讨论恐龙的场景。恐龙是一种神秘的动物,学生们都非常感兴趣。本课时恐龙馆情景的设置,可以激发学生求知的欲望,鼓舞了学生想要用英语表达的热情。

本课时出现了很多生词和词组,dinosaur, hall, maybe, both of,more,over there,这些单词和词组的读音、语义对于学生都有一定的困难,老师应该借助一定的语境、肢体语言、图片等方法帮助学生学习和理解。

1.Watch a short video about dinosaurs and answer a question:

T: Let’s watch a short video and tell me “What animal can you see?”

Teach new word “dinosaur”.

T: Listen and guess “How tall is it?”

T: It is 4.5 meters.

Teach students two ways of expressing 4.5 meters.

2.Let’s think

T:Where are they?

Present a picture of a museum.

3. Let’s try

T:Look, Miss White and the children are in the Dinosaur Museum. How many dinosaurs do you see? What are they like?

Ss:… .

4.Listen and circle

T: Now let’s listen and circle the right answers.

Teacher plays the recording, students listen and circle the right answers. Then teacher asks two students to tell their answers.

T: Now let’s listen and repeat.

5.Look and tick

T: Now look carefully and tick “Which one is the second dinosaur?”

Teacher leads students to learn tall-taller-tallest.

6. Let’s talk

T:Look! That’s the tallest dinosaur in this hall. How tall is it? Let’s watch a short video and find out the answer.

7. Watch and answer

Teacher plays the short video for the students to watch carefully.

T: Now let’s fill in the blanks. Next, look at the pictures and tell me how tall they are.

Teacher leads students to learn to express
